Have you heard that YTB is a "card mill"?

Most every travel business has been labeled a "card mill" with the exception of traditional travel agencies. A true “card mill” is a company who sells “travel agent credential cards” and yet the company does not really sell travel. That does NOT describe YTB.
YTB has been growing at an incredible rate. They sold a record breaking number of cruises in a 24 hour period on November 8, 2007. YTB websites and Referring Travel Agents (RTA's) sold 12800 cabins in a 24 hour period. This was a strong statement to the entire travel community that YTB is a legitimate seller of travel and the power of its referring travel agents (RTA's) are a force to be reckoned with! This dispells the myth that YTB and its RTA's do not sell travel. Our business is travel! Thus, YTB Travel.

Travel Weekly, an industry leader in information and resources in travel, who has been dubbed the National Newspaper of the Travel Industry, named YTB as 35th top seller of travel in the world and 11th top seller of leisure travel in the U.S. in 2007. Not only that, J. Kim Sorensen was named one of the 33 most influential people in the travel industry in 2007!

So, Do They All Sell Travel?
All YTB Referring Travel Agents are required to sell $1500 in travel before they are permitted to apply for and obtain a YTB credential. Every RTA has the ability to sell travel and earn commissions on travel but if an RTA is not selling travel, they should not enjoy the benefits of an RTA who does sell travel. YTB Travel is in the business of selling travel.

Before I became an RTA with YTB over a year ago, I was a salon owner of a few successful salons and an educator for Creative Nail Design Systems of California. I traveled alot but I was not on the booking end of the travel. I did not know how to book travel and honestly did not understand the process at all. When the YTB opportunity was placed in my hands, I saw it as an opportunity to learn something new and start a successful franchise-type business. YTB gave me the ability to learn all about travel and gave me the tools I needed to build a successful business. I found it exciting and quite fun.

Traditional Travel Agents are caught in a market shift. It is the shift of people using the internet as their travel agent instead of going to a brick & mortar facility to have their travel needs met. There are many of these traditional travel agents that are angry and are directly attacking YTB because of their misdirected anger. It is a shame for them. It certainly is not their fault. It is a marketshift. YTB is at the front of that marketshift and is in the perfect position to benefit from the shift. There are many traditional travel agents who have gotten on board and are making a killing in YTB...using the travel they already know with a unique new tool called YTB. I have several travel agents working with me directly. They are fantastic. They are grateful too, to YTB for giving the industry a fresh face!

No. Just tell your friends about your website. An RTA with our company sells Travel and does not recruit ANYONE. The only people who are allowed to "recruit" are our REPS.
